Pulau Ketam Trip

Hi, everyone, me and a bunch of friends went to Pulau Ketam last weekend. Its a nice place and quite easily accessible. In fact, we went there from Sri Serdang because we live around there since we are UPM's student. Anyway, we started off at KTM SErdang to KTM KL Sentral and then change to Klang line. Its Rm1.70 from KTM Serdang to KL Sentral and RM4.30 from KL Sentral to pelabuhan Klang. When we reach Pelabuhan Klang, we got too hungry, thus settled down in a mini KFC, which is so small that there is only one set of table and chairs in the restoran. Its a rainy day when we reach there. I've heard Pulau Ketam as being very hot but in fact its drizzling that day that we have to use umbrellas and it was wet all over. The price of the ticket for the air-cond covered ship, is RM7 per journey. So the transportation fees all add up back and forth is RM26.
The first restaurant we saw for the day is the Kuai Lok Hian restaurant. We didn't went for that one, instead we go for restaurant Kim Hoe. Heard the food is quite nice from other blogs, and so we gave it a try.
Below are the food that we ordered:
This is chilli crab which cost us RM52, quite expensive though and not really my cup of tea, its quite spicy but a little plains besides that. My advice, order, other flavours of crab such as sweet and sour.

The above is steam lala, this one is worth trying, its only RM22 and the lala is quite fresh and juicy.

This is fried sotong which also cost RM22. They gave quite a big portion and this is really worth the RM22.

This is Kam Heong He Kor, same also quite big portion but i won't recommend this because they didn't cook it that nice.

Anyway, that's bout the food and i'm not as much satisfied with the price but overall the food tastes around 7/10. Sungai Pelek has much better seafood and i would recommend this next time.

The below are the snapshot of the whole island which is so small it took as around 2 hours to finish explore..haha.

This is the so called main road into the inner of the island. No motorised vehicles is allowed.

A very nice house in the small island, all the gates are made of good metals.
I suppose there are no crimes here on the island..

A very old boat skeleton found near a bank by the side of the island.

I think the villagers catch their fish here, maybe the crabs are caught here.
The only school here in and is equipped with quite a large volleyball court.

The only bank here, make sure you have maybank...its very convenient to get some instant cash.

A chinese temple and is the only temple i guess..

LaLa Chien, sold by the road side...it is quite delicious if eaten hot. However, you might want to tell them to put less of the starch because it might taste a little gluey...

The only transport allowed here, bicycles. There are so many bicycles, almost every restaurant rent out bicycles, the one rent out by the only hotel there has the newest bicycles. I think walking is better since the place is so small.

The condition inside the air-conditioned boat..

A dessert made of shaved ice. The green one is kiwi flavour while the yellow one is mango flavour. Not bad and is cheap. Just RM2

Only this type of motor is allowed to carry goods, man still needs to walk...

Stalls that sold many seafood products, the one sold outside the hotel is quite fresh compare to this one.

A small pondok polis.

a very cute bitter gourd planted on just a small pot.
I didn't take much picture as i think there is really not much in Pulau Ketam, and the place has a very strong fishy smell and everywhere is very dirty, i mean below the roads which were built a level up above the sands.     Thus, for those who will be visiting this place, don't put too much hope, it might not be as good as you think. But do get some local seafood products which i think is quite worth it.
That's all for now...and bye..
